Another of our pioneer Alaska missionaries has passed &
has gone to be with
the Lord. 1952 was the year Valeria began her ministry in Alaska & she
served the Lord & His people, specifically, the Alaska Natives, until her
"retirement" in 1995. In retirement she continued to minister as a volunteer
chaplain at the Native Hospital until health concerns required her to move
to Mississippi in the late 1990's. In 1977, the Alaska Baptist Convention
honored her faithfulness to God & His call upon her life by naming the
annual mission offering the "Valeria Sherard State Mission Offering".
